What Should I Expect?

Before your lip lift surgery, you will have a detailed consultation to assess your lip shape, facial balance, and desired outcome. During this consultation, different lip lift techniques will be discussed, including the subnasal “bullhorn” lip lift and the corner lip lift, to determine the best approach for you. Pre-surgical instructions will be provided to ensure a smooth recovery process.

A small strip of skin is removed from just beneath the nose to lift and enhance the upper lip, with sutures placed carefully along the base of the nose to create a discreet, well-hidden scar. The procedure typically takes 45 minutes to an hour. After surgery, you can expect mild swelling and bruising for the first 5-7 days, and sutures will be removed within the same timeframe. Most patients can resume normal activities within a week, though strenuous activities should be avoided for 2-3 weeks. Over time, the incision will gradually fade and become nearly invisible.
