What Should I Expect?
Facial fat transfer is a natural way to restore lost volume and enhance facial contours using your own fat. During a consultation, facial volume loss and skin elasticity are assessed, and a donor site—such as the abdomen, thighs, or flanks—is selected for fat harvesting. The procedure is performed under local or general anesthesia, depending on the extent of treatment. Fat is gently removed via liposuction, purified, and strategically injected into areas like the cheeks, under the eyes, or along the jawline to restore youthful volume. The process typically takes 1-2 hours.
After surgery, mild swelling, bruising, and tenderness can be expected in both the liposuctioned and treated areas. Swelling is most noticeable in the first one to two weeks but gradually subsides.
